If you want to get deep into the gut if the thing, you could ltrace
the thing and see what Xrdb* functions it calls. PErhaps that will
yield the needed resource specification.
Being a lazy bastard, at this point I would give up and use Sawfish's
"Matched Windows" thingummy to set the geometry. But you may not be
running Sawfish.
