Matrix orbital speed is 19200, which is fine for the screen size.
lcdproc is output only ATM, but CVS supports keypad input, but
you want "slim terminal", so would this include a standard keyboard?
If so you would have terminal input as normal comming from a keyboard
and output going to /dev/lcd (serial). You can do an stty to set the
screen size to 20*4 or whatever and you don't need lcdproc. I guess
you could even use stty to set the clear screen sequence. I'm not
sure about splitting input and output for a terminal over different
devices?
