Anyone using the http_proxy variable with lynx?
When I do:
$ export http_proxy=wwwproxy:3128
$ lynx http://www.linux.ie
Alert!: Unable to access document.
Can't Access `http://www.linux.ie/'
Alert!: Unable to access document.
lynx: Can't access startfile
If I do:
$ unset http_proxy
$ lynx http://www.linux.ie
it works fine. wwwproxy is a CNAME for the machine running
my squid, which listens on port 3128. Setting http_proxy
like this works fine for wget.
It fails on lynx-2.8.3-2 on RH6.2 and lynx-2.8.4-3 on RH7.0.
Setting http_proxy to the FQDN doesn't help. Squid logs
don't show any activity.
Any ideas?
