Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could give me an answer to the following problem,
or point me to a site with the relevant info.
* Situtation *
At the moment we have 2 domains, 1 for administrative staff and another for
students.
The servers are running winnt 4 except for 2 Alphas in the admin section,
one running Tru64, the other Mandrake 7.1.
After coming back from a security seminar I have eventually talked to
academic side to move the servers to linux.
BUT the mail server is currently in the academic domain, (running exchange
but may hopefully change too) which we access.
There is a trust relationship in place so that admin can access academic
domain for mail, one way, i.e. they trust us, we don;t trust them.
The relationship is only needed for email
* Problem *
If we change the servers to linux, is it possible to access the mail server
in the academic domain from the admin domain?
For security reasons we still need 2 domains.
TIA
ps where can i get figures for the numbers of servers running linux compared
to linux?
