I downloaded the following rpms:
cpp, gcc, gcc-c++, gcc=objc, libstdc++ and libstdc++-devel
All version 2.95.3.
And I installed them with
rpm -U --oldpackage
I then ran into problems compiling c++ programmes which included sys/time.h.
The problem was in the glibc shipped with 7.0.
RedHat have an update for 7.0 to bring glibc up to 2.2.3 (from 2.1.92), so I
installed that and now everything seems to be working with 2.95.3.
Thanks
Conor
