Hmmm... have you tried using file name completion in a shell ? If it is
gobbeldy-gook then you may have luck by getting tcsh / bash to autocomplete
it for you.. that way it will escape as needed.. (assuming you can start off
the filenames).
You could also try (carefully) the 'rm -i *' option and see what that gets you.
But - as Kate / Jerry have said - fsck it first... just in case you do more
damage..
