[ILUG] chroot & proftpd

[ILUG] chroot & proftpd

Hi All,
I'm pretty new to this.
I have a (nopefully not stupid) question.

I have a Linux Box running Debian.
I can ssh, and ftp into it.
I want to add a user with restricted ftp access only.
After adding the user I changed their shell to /bin/false
so they couldn't ssh in.
Now I want to set a different root directory for them
so when they ftp in they can only see a sepcified directory,
and subdirectories of it. (appearing as root dir)

I'm trying to acheive this using chroot, but don't really
understand the syntax.
chroot doesn't seem to be user specific.

Anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks in advance,
Ray.

BTW: The ftp daemon is proftpd (as subject)
