Hi,
Something I just figured out, after a small amount of hair-pulling.
Running Mandrake 8.0. I was trying to export a CD-Rom using NFS.
The client machine (running RH6.2) was not able to mount it.
Couldn't figure out why. NFS was running, I was able to mount
a shared directory, but the CD-Rom wasn't being exported.
The reason? Mandrake's automount/supermount, which meant that
the CD-Rom wasn't actually mounted as far as NFS was concerned,
even though it was actually available on the host computer.
Solution: manually mount the CD-Rom, using
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
Now it works fine.
Regards,
Cormac.
