 All I know is that we bought a Sony DVD player/surround speaker system
for the office, and we were warned not to chip it, as it's getting harder
& harder these days, and that they would no longer chip & warrantee Sony
stuff.

 My advice would be steer clear of Sony stuff if you want to watch
non-region 2 stuff.
