Hi,
I have a problem on my machine with a runaway process (mozilla of
course!). Trying to kill the process causes the kill command to hang-
top, and ps also hang. It appears that mozilla has caused its directory
in /proc to be corrupted so a read on that directory hangs- hence top,
ps, kill etc. Is it possible to remove a directory from /proc?
How do I kill the process / or remove the offending directory without
restarting the machine? Has anyone seen this problem before- is a kernel
fault?
regards,
aonghus
