OpenOffice is the one we should be supporting
- ok i know it essentially is the same application
as Star Office behind the logos, but i think
it would be no harm to try and promote the name
OpenOffice in regard to it being open source
compared with the more restricted and closed
Sun StarOffice.

hmm, I'd actually forgotten staroffice, mainly out of hatred for it. I
had a copy of v5 from when Sun posted CDs out. It was almost quicker to
reboot into windows. I gather it has improved though. The others I didn't
know of. cool.
I still maintain that totally ditching windows *initially* may be a bad
plan. I know that in a rush, I reach for Photoshop ahead of The Gimp,
simply cos I'm more practiced with it and in a hurry I need that. Hence
'til you really know how to do stuff quickly you need to, I wouldn't
recommend wiping as you might regret not being abble to reboot back into
windows for 5 minutes some time.
