is there a rant anywhere that can adequately respond to the utterly
stupid twin complaints about largish gui apps: "why is it big and have
lots of dependancies?"
one complaint or the other is fine, but both together is just dumb.

yes, i've read a few galeon release comments today...
there actually were a few tech discussions at the "pointless bof" table.
one was about glib and how it would be nice to see more gnu linux utils
using it. it could definitely lead to slimmer and faster systems.
generally it would be better if bins used available libs - for instance,
apparently the w command implements it's own qsort.
