Because of the peculiarities of the Mac FS and the way CDs are mounted on
the desktop - no to your first and second questions. None of the Mac FS
tools for Linux that I know of can do this.
A kludge is to put the CD into a Mac, and using the appletalk tools package,
remotely mount the CD to your linux box. YMMV.
