I have (I think) the same system as you stephane,
Logitech cordless mouseman or something, with an ABIT something board (new
one) and a 1Ghz Athlon.
I have used USB with 2.2.19 (statically compiled coz the modules didn't work
for some reason)
2.4.7, 2.4.8, 2.4.9, and now 2.4.10 since last friday or thursday.
No issues at all, could be a IRQ sharing issue, I had to move my TV tuner
(bt848) to another slot as the system was sharing everything on IRQ9 for
some reason (could have sworn I reserved it for legacy use in BIOS aswell as
3,4 and 7)
Mind you Stephane, the logitech remote adaptor refuses to connect to the
mouse in USB mode. Can't figure out why as it works in doze on same machine.
It detects the bloody adaptor fine! I may install the other USB ports as
there is an optional 2 to add (its an add in card)
Chipset is a VIA 82Cxxx or something similar - sorry machine is at home.
Interestingly, things are much better in 2.4.10, no idea why but I read
somewhere there are major changes in 10 - even Alan Cox was giving out to
linus apparantly.
Later,
CW

Subject: [ILUG] Weird USB issue
Hello All,
It's been a while since i bothered you with some techie issue. Here's a
new one.
Imagine two machines : a pure Intel PIII system and another with a Via
chipset handling an Athlon.
I decided to install a nice Logitech cordless/ballless USB Mouse. All
went fine under the PIII system. Tried the same at home and then ... the
PS/2 keyboard locks up ...
I applied the same set up, loading all the bits as modules. As soon as i
load up usb-uhci (or other usb controller), it locks up the keyboard ...
Any idea ?
Steph
