Tragic but true - at a guess, I'd say that > 99.99% of software users don't
have the first clue that software has source code, and > 90% of them don't
even know what software is - they just turn on their computer, and either IT
works, or IT doesn't - they've no idea of the distinction between hardware,
firmware, OS software, application software - it's all just "the computer"
or IT (and that IT is not an acronym)
