[ILUG] 2.4.10 and reiserFS ...

Hello people,

I would like to tell you a nice tale on 2.4.10 with a via chipset. My
box at home runs an athlon 1.4 with reiserfs as /

All was working smoothly until i upgraded to 2.4.10, which has got this
nice virtual mem change in it. Since then, it crashed my box every 15
minute, destroyed part of my reiserFS partition tree and made me loose
loads of time booting on my debian to reiserfsck all my reiser
partitions under redhat. My system is half way unstable right now and i
am thinking about wipping it out completly.

This was just to tell you : don't use 2.4.10 on via (actually my intel
box at work also runs a 2.4.10 and it hangs only every 2 days ;)

I needed to tell everybody about how sad i think 2.4 had become chaotic
lately ...

Steph
