[ILUG] mail server

[ILUG] mail server

Hi all,

I'm wondering what the best approach is to the following scenario:

Due to severe problems with our exchange 2000 server, (re-installed 3
time in the last week), I have been told to set up a mail server for our
administrative staff.

what i want to do is have the users use outlook to connect to the linux
server, (Alpha running RH7.1), read and send their e-mail, with only the
e-mail that is going to users who are not on our server to go to the
exchange server.

I am also considering using fetchmail to get any mail for our users from
the exchange server rather than rely on forwarding.

the exchange server is in a win2k domain and we are in an NT4 domain
with trust relationship, will there be any specific settings in the
alpha that i will need to make? have used fetchmail for succussfully get
my own mail from the exchange server.

TIA
