TeX is, ironically, the one app where Unicode isn't a huge advantage
to me--I don't use Han characters, and its (TeX's) typographical stuff
is already fairly comprehensive. I don't have MULE installed for
Emacs, so I'm using <http://www.stud.enst.fr/~bellard/qemacs/> , which
is fine, but requires more occasional bugfixes than stable GNU
emacsen.

Markus Kuhn's Unicode fixed fonts as included with XF4 are fine for
running Xterm, but using TrueType proportional fonts with an
*-iso10646-1 encoding (OEM versions of Windows are good for something
:-) kills the X server, as I think I mentioned before.
