Yes, the problem seems to be only Netscape related, but the bizarre thing is
that it doesn't occur with Netscape on the notebook (same version).

Yes, that's deliberate on behalf of UF to get you to reload an adv. - that's
why I run Junkbuster too :-)

As I said, it's a Netscape thing. Curiously this morning the UF page was
happily coming from squid but inpho was being fetched from the site.
Anyway, as previously mentioned I've fudged squid's configuration file and
am now a happier, if still somewhat puzzled, camper.
