I just had a very interesting conversation with a gentleman at Eircom re
i-stream - suffice it to say that if they record the calls, he may find
himself unemployed soon :-)
Anyway, the official word on the cap for i-stream solo (the lowest product
now - 512k/128k) is that it is 3GB per month. By my calculations, if you use
the full potential speed of the service you will exceed the monthly cap in
less than 14 hours i.e. on an averaged basis you can only use 2% of the
putative capacity.
If I happen to want to get ADSL I'm at least in the ball park in that my
exchange is one of the privileged ones. Of course it's subject to testing,
and won't anyway be available until Eircom and Etain Doyle sort out their
squabbles - don't hold your breath.
