[ILUG] LinuxWorld 2001

[ILUG] LinuxWorld 2001

Hi all,

Just a quick note in my role as PRO of ILUG.

The committee has been contacted by Mark Egan of Scope, with regard to
postponing the LinuxWorld expo. This is primarily because the terrorist
attack in the US has created some setbacks with regard to both sponsorship
and speaker declines.

The proposed solution is to integrate LinuxWorld with ICT Expo
(http://www.techcentral.ie/ICTexpo/) in the Spring. In this scenario,
LinuxWorld will be allocated its own hall within the expo. Speakers are
currently being contacted and notified of this.

In view of the fact that some people have already organised time off, and
flights for November, we are in the process of organising an event for the
weekend of the 24th of November which will probably consist of a BOF and
other ancillary items.

Should anybody wish to comment on this, could you please contact me, or
another committee member off-list?

Thanks,

Ruairi
