Mine isn't working either, but the symptoms here are different:
Pressing the powerbutton with only APM installed makes the *monitor*
switch off now. I can press as long as I want, but it will always take
several attempts before it powers off the computer, too :(

Powerstrip next. Friggin' Intel probably had something to do with this
