[ILUG] Hollywood setup under Linux

[ILUG] Hollywood setup under Linux

Hello, for those who have a Hollywood (also dxr3) card and would like to
set it up under linux, i'm sure you heard about the excellent dxr3
project available here :

http://dxr3.sourceforge.net and also xine which supports dxr3 since
0.5.x on http://xine.sourceforge.net

All works fine but i'm puzzled about a thing though. I had to reinstall
completly my system as redhat 7.1 was dying quickly on my box. I then
backed up a couple of set up files including modules.conf containing my
precious options to display the tv/out of the dxr3 card without green
special effects (well-known issue discussed on the dxr3 site).

I then installed mandrake 8.1 on ext3 and all the packages in my kernel
(2.4.9) to support em8300 and put back the exact modules syntax and
surprise : the image was green whereas on redhat, it was perfect ... Had
to tweak the modules.conf to roll back some parameters to 0 and it then
worked.

Here's the question : using the same packages and kernel as before, what
could have changed ?

Steph
