Actually, there has been a lot of discussion about a reenactment of
clontarf. Loads of danish & british viking reenactors would love to take
on the Irish again. We could even get some Manx ones drunk enough to fight
on the Irish side again.
Problem being where do you get:
Big enough field to have a few hundred people fighting
Where spectators could have a good view
Near the coast, so we could land some longships
And a campsite nearby for the visitors, where it's secure to leave
stuff around
Where people wouldn't mind such an event happening
And, I don't think there is such a place anywhere near dublin.
