Where oh where oh where does this magic setting get, well set.
It seems that unlike Mandrake it's not set in the rc.sysinit. Looking at
the /etc/init.d/ypserv script it sources the /etc/sysconfig/network
config file with a comment overhead stating that it's getting the
YP-Domainname. It doesn't do anything with the vars that sourcing that
file creates so I can only assume that the ypserv binary looks for an
environment variable to get the domainname. But I can't see this
anywhere. I suppose it calls getdomainname() and that's exactly what it
does ??
Upon reflection I presume it's an entry something like
DOMAINNAME="name" in the /etc/sysconfig/network file. I'm sure I tried
this and it didn't work. I also tried NISDOMAIN="name". Though I was
falling a sleep by the time redhat finished installing on the box so I
could have easily been typing gyberish.
Basically looking for confirmation that I'm doing the "Right Thing(TM)"
