It was this fsckwit. I'm more used to typing ilug at linux.ie than
ilug at hellbunnie dot org.

Nobody would have got two copies of webdev mails if someone hadn't
replied to the damned thing, and that wasn't me. I realised what I'd
done as soon as I did it and ignored the please confirm mail.
Of course, I thought the reply to that mail would have to come from the
address you were signing up, which would make it difficult for
someone else to accidentally reply and thus activate the account. I
was obviously wrong.
