I have a box with an internal ISDN card which is working just fine with I4L
(it's what I'm using as I type this message on my remote server). However,
for reasons which I won't go into on account of longwindedness, I want to
try to make connections via the modem emulation i.e. by sending AT commands
via the /dev/ttyI0 interface. Believe me that if I didn't need to do this, I
wouldn't :-)
I can happily connect to the device and give it commands and make it dial
and it connects quite happily, but if I use wvdial (eventually I'll use
diald) it doesn't make a ppp connection. Looking in the logs I see that I
send a load of LCP ConfReq messages to which I seem to get no response. I've
tried using stupid mode in wvdial.conf but that made no difference. I've
also tried various providers (UTV Internet, which I want to use, Eircom, and
Vianet) but they're all the same.
Any suggestions gratefully received, and useful ones may even be
acknowledged :-)
