This won't work. Because the machine has been booted without ide-scsi
support, the ide cdrom driver will have "grabbed" the drive. When
you insmod ide-scsi it won't find the drive. Hence you need to
fix the ide-scsi line and reboot.

It's dead annoying...is there any way to make the ide driver relinquish
the drive so that enabling a CDR/CDRW drive doesn't require a reboot?
