You system is detecting a fault on the keyboard port, some machines allow
you to disable the f1 prompt in the BIOS, others don';t care if its there or
not - My BP6 for example.
I don;t think the gateway box's have the option, I can check for you later
as I have the exact same box at home for smoothwall, currently just left a
skip and waiting for RAM.

the BIOS is AMIBIOS , american Megatrends Inc and I can't find any settings
in the bios
