[ILUG] SCSI CD-RW at Scan

[ILUG] SCSI CD-RW at Scan

Not that I'm promoting Scan at the moment (haven't bought anything from them
since they screwed up an order on me some time ago) but there was quite some
discussion here recently about making IDE CD writers work and as Rick
pointed out, you can avoid all that shit by using a SCSI device in the first
place. On Scan's today only page today, they have a HP SCSI 8x4x32 rewriter
for £44 UK.

Because of Scan's carriage charge, buying just that is going to cost you
about IR£115 but that's still not a bad price, and if you're in the market
for something else, or if you organise a co-buy, the carriage gets spread
and so the price gets even better. You might for instance be interested in a
DVD-RAM - UK£259 for SCSI, UK£372 for IDE (Those prices, in particular the
IDE/SCSI disparity are NOT a misprint, at least, not MY misprint :-) )
