uhmmm.. no. amazingly enough, i actually looked it up before posting,
for once - unusual for me. It is "saved-text" (APUE, p.86). The flag
for it is S_ISVTX ie SaVed-TeXt, even though the linux man page gives
"sticky bit" as the description.

ie "saved-text" had already fallen out of use in favour of "sticky" 
by version 7.

shame the FreeBSD man page web utility doesn't go earlier than
version 7, and searching for "version six unix man chmod" (or
similar)  on google returns a lot of noise.
