[ILUG] Linux on Advent Laptops

Hi All,

I'd appreciate some help from anyone who has installed Linux on an Advent 
6414 laptop before.

I'm after installing Red Hat but I can't get X to work. I'm aware my graphics 
card (SiS 630s) is a bit crap, but I know there is a work around where I add 
vga=791 to my lilo.conf and turn framebuffer graphics mode on.

I've done all this but get the following error when I try to start x:
FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO: Invalid argument

Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

Any ideas how I can sort this out???
