if the system runs Tru64 then the "bios" is SRM. At some stage prior 
to booting of Tru64, you'll see a white:

prompt against a blue screen. that is the SRM prompt. go to
www.alphalinux.org and read the SRM docs for a quick intro on it.
Read the other docs too, ie the FAQ and the HOWTO.

The AS1200 also possibly has a "Alphabios", used for booting NT. at 
the SRM prompt type in "set os_type NT" and reset the machine to 
access it.

not i, if using RedHat, consult axp-list at redhat.com for more help.
