The problems are not linking related, but rather related to linking with
differing versions of libraries. Back when mysql.com was just plain tcx.se
it used be mentioned on their web site but I just had alook and I don't see
anything. Perhaps the problems no longer exist with newer linux distros.
I've been using MySQL for rather more than a year now, so it's been a while
since I looked at that warning, and I've been using RPM versions for quite
some time.  Of course if there was any sign of TCX implementing sub-selects
I'd be back on the bleeding edge like a light . . . .
