[ILUG] XFree86 4.1.0 and kernel 2.4.9 probs

[ILUG] XFree86 4.1.0 and kernel 2.4.9 probs

John Madden maddenj at csn.ul.ie
Fri Sep 21 17:57:03 IST 2001

On Fri, 21 Sep 2001 Wynne, Conor didst pronounce:

:Whats the output of DMESG? what about /var/log/messages?

Nothing strange in either of these - at least I don't think there was.
I reinstalled RH7 yesterday.

:Does the drive work then fail? at what point exactly does this happen?

It doesn't work at all. When I try mounting it (mount /dev/cdrom), then
it gives the DMA error.

:Are there any oops'?

The only one is the ide_proc_dma error. Can't remember it exactly. I
might put 2.4.9 on again and then I'll post it exactly and, hopefully,
solve it.
