Many people refuse to believe that such a list isn't in their
self-interest until they experience it for themselves. So, of
late, I've abandoned my traditional practice of trying to explain why,
and instead encourage timid, hypersensitive newcomers to create these
ghettos and try them. If they're not up to the task of creating such,
they can have Yahoo Groups do it for them.
And if they end up liking the experience, hey, more power to 'em.
