I'd like to see something like *Step or the old Amiga way of installation -
"the directory is the app", rather than munging all the packages together
in the one subtree in the normal unix/windows fashion, just make installing
an application as simple as copying a directory onto your harddrive.
Obviously, the amiga had ASSIGNs to make this easier, and Step had
appdir-support kludged into the FS, but there must be a clean way to do it.
