Actually, joining ANY of the armies is free (note that there's no Caldera
army. Some people, nobody will ally with them) but you have to buy or
otherwise provide your own weapons ammunition. You're free to recruit anyone
else into any of the armies, except for SuSE where you can only recruit your
friends.
