No. Solaris 10 is not available yet. :)

Seriously, it would help if we could get the specifications of the
machine: processor and memory. These are displayed in the banner when
the machine boots.

They were for a (very) limited time. Now you need to pay the media fee,
which means you can get Solaris for around EUR50+postage.

As far as I am aware, Sun do not complain if people make copies of
Solaris Sparc - after all, it could mean another UltraSparc convert. :)

The license does state: Sun grants you a non-exclusive and
non-transferable license for the internal use only of the accompanying
software and documentation and any error corrections provided by Sun, by
the number of users and class of computer hardware for which the
corresponding fee has been paid.

But since the only software fee seems to be a media charge, I believe it
is safe to copy the Solaris CD's (IANAL, etc etc etc).

If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Talking of which, I am looking at a freshly unboxed copy of Solaris 9,
so if it would help.

Even better, I have Debian 3.0r0 for UltraSparc... (and you thought this
was all going to be off topic.)

I am willing to burn CD's if you can provide the blanks and if nobody
else tells be it is illegal. We are in Rathfarnham.

- Matthew
