Did you expect it to? I just ran this on a reiserfs filesystem, and
it produced garbage as well. The filesystem is perfectly fine!

Fair enough. I doubt anyone will be using reiserfs v4 on production 
systems for a fair while anyway.

This whole argument is pretty silly. Some people have had good 
experiences with reiserfs, some have had bad. Find me a filesystem
(especially one in active development) that has never resulted in a 
horror story for some poor soul.
