[ILUG] Uninstallable/Deletable Debain Packages

Have posted to the list before but not yet got a respnse that solved the
problem. 'dpkg -r fvwm95' shows up the following error:

debian:/home/mpage# dpkg -r fvwm95
(Reading database ... 66507 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing fvwm95 ...
update-alternatives: unable to make
/usr/man/man1/x-window-manager.1.gz.dpkg-tmp a symlink to
/etc/alternatives/x-window-manager.1.gz: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing fvwm95 (--remove):
subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 2
/var/lib/dpkg/info/fvwm95.postinst: undocumented call to `postinst
abort-remove'
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
  fvwm95

There are three other packages (all GUI's) displaying the same problem.
Anybody any ideas?
