Nice, it's about 8-9 on my PII450.

This must by via the Screen Saver and therefore not a fair comparison.
Switch the XP box to use the winnt_cmdline version. That would be a
better comparison. Linux should still come out ahead though.

And to get even more accurate, compare using the same work units. Each
work unit represents part of a signal. Therefore the signals' details
affect the amount of processing needed. If you are using the same work
units then you get a better idea.
