I think I mentioned previously how much I dislike web bulletin boards.
However, some people really like them...because they can't use NNTP etc.
Is there any nice software out there that can give me:
NNTP backend
Web frontend (allow authenticated users post, and
everyone to read)
SMTP frontend (mail subscribers all posts to a board,
allow input from SMTP)
This is an addon to an existing Zope site (I chose Zope for it's
half-decent online-editing stuff, and the fact that it's article
presentation stuff is simple for admins and authors).
So, if something could authenticate off the Zope system, that would be
cool - people could post a proper article or a simple news post with the
same password, same web UI.
Problem being, I've no idea how Zope's backend works. Maybe there is
something better out there that I've not found yet. Any ideas (sorry for
being vauge, but there is *so much* of this sort of stuff out there, and
nearly everything I've tryed is crap.
