Actually, some do ... but in general car manufacturers usually have very
little to do with the EMS in their cars ... they're usually supplied by an
external company like Delphi Auto (www.delphiauto.co.uk)
EMS usually have their own "OS", although in reality it bears no relation to
either Linux or Windows, and is rather a way of reacting to sensory input
...
