This is where I get confused. I've got xfs installed and running on the host, 
but my XF86Config is pointing to the regular fonts directories on my system, 
so I don't think I'm actually using xfs.

As for the UML instance, as I have not got Xnest to run properly, I can't run 
XFree86 -configure to get a starting XF86Config file for it. And I'm not sure 
just what server it would use running via Xnest on the host anyway?
