Hi
Currently running Linux (Debian woody) on just such a machine.
Very linux friendly though for XFree86 v4.1 you will run into trouble 
unless you use the driver from http://www.probo.com/timr/savage40.html

I have been meaning to test the S-video and TV-out but havent yet,
there is a switch utility at the above web page.
So the TV out is supported but I cant say yet if it works ! :)

As for the firewire I hope to be trying that out next week.
