[ILUG] Isdn in Linux

[ILUG] Isdn in Linux

depends on the version of isdn utils you've got. i.e.: the new one or the old one.

I dial ala :

ifup ippp0
isdn dial ippp0
isdn hangup ippp0

And with the new one - on SUSE 7.3 anyway - which I'm beginning to think is the best distro although I shall reserve judgement on that one for a few months...

new one :
isdnctrl dial ippp0
isdnctrl hangup ippp0

Easy Peasy. This works for SUSE 7.3 and Mandrake 8.x, on redhat as it refused to work for some reason.

Today i helped a friend set up linux for the first time on his pc.

He uses isdn and because i've never used it i don't know anything about
setting it up in linux. The mandrake installer seemed to configure it.

But what do you use to dial it? i assume you dont use kppp or wvdial of
ifup. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much
appreciated.
