aye, but in kernel it wouldnt be gzipped (unless kernel was to
on-the-fly gunzip every time you did cat /proc/config). configs i have
range from 2 to 3 KiB for custom builds to 10 to 20 KiB for generic
"one-kernel-fits-all" RH style builds.
that's 20KiB more unswappable kernel memory..
just to make up for a user not doing "cp .config
/boot/config-$version" when installing.
(indeed that step might be added to kernels make install).
