Do some checking, and you'll find that the people who complain that a
FAQ is "too overwhelming" are predominantly those who decline to help
themselves, regardless of what resources are put at their disposal,
and who want to have their hands held. Repeatedly and indefinitely.
If you want to hold their hands, you have much more patience than I
have. I'd rather spend my limited time and effort helping those willing
to help themselves. And FAQs are a time-proven, optimally efficient way of
distilling common questions and their common answers down to essentials.
