[ILUG] Old computers

[ILUG] Old computers

Keep your ear to the ground for more failed ".com" companies
and other unfortunate casualties of the current climate.
- you'd be surprised to find some fairly decent equipment that
people are dumping in skips...

Be careful of dodgy power supplies on older boxes.
Usually more of a problem with cheapy unbranded stuff.

I generally avoid any old stuff unless it contains
fairly decent quality components... Some hardware is great
and would probably last a lifetime, some other stuff is
probably best left in a skip....

I watched a pc go on fire about a year ago and its made be
a tad more cautious of older stuff.
